What is Thodex?

Thodex is/was a Turkish cryptocurrency exchange platform founded in 2017. It allowed users to buy, sell, and trade various cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Litecoin. Thodex operated as a centralized platform, which means that all transactions were managed through the exchange's servers.

However, in April 2021, Thodex halted its operations and its founder, Faruk Fatih Özer, fled Turkey to Albania with a reported $2 billion worth of investors' funds. The platform was subsequently shut down by Turkish authorities and Özer was arrested in Albania on charges of fraud and running an unlicensed trading platform.

This incident caused a significant loss for many Thodex users who had invested in various cryptocurrencies and couldn't access their funds.
