A digital asset is a digital depiction of something valuable. Usually, this value is tokenized, and the resulting tokens, are verified and stored on a distributed ledger. It can either represent complete ownership or fractional ownership. A digital asset can also symbolize a real-world asset (RWA). It is kept on the blockchain as a token, identified by its specific ID.
RWA can take the shape of a product, a file, a record from a land registry, an accounting ledger, a raw file for 3D printing, and many other things. Digital assets can be used as a means of exchange for purchasing products and services. It may also belong to a digital asset that is a tangible replica of a real-world asset and has a special identifying code.
