FOMO

What is FOMO?

"FOMO" is an acronym that stands for "fear of missing out." It refers to the feeling of anxiety or concern that one may miss out on an opportunity, such as a social event, a profitable investment, or a new product or service.

In the context of investing and finance, FOMO is often used to describe the phenomenon of investors buying into a stock or a cryptocurrency because they are worried about missing out on potential gains. This can lead to irrational buying behavior, as investors may make impulsive decisions based on fear of missing out, rather than rational analysis of the investment's potential returns and risks.

FOMO can also be seen in the crypto world, where the fear of missing out on the potential gains of a specific coin or token, can drive people to buy it, even if they don't have enough understanding of the project or the technology behind it. This can lead to the formation of a bubble where the asset's prices artificially inflated, and the bubble eventually bursts.
